Philippine Burdeau
Philippine, from France, is a PhD candidate in Energy Science & Engineering at Stanford University. Her research focuses on quantifying uncertainties in methane emissions estimates. In particular, her work includes developing statistical methods for intermittent emissions quantification, creating a high-resolution map of U.S. natural gas composition with uncertainty estimates, and participating in controlled release experiments that evaluate methane detection technologies. She built her foundation in applied mathematics and physics through the Grandes Écoles program at École Polytechnique, then completed an MSc in Politics & Policy Analysis at Bocconi University in Milan. Prior to Stanford, she worked as a research intern at France Stratégie, the policy advisory agency to the French Prime Minister, and at Kearney Energy Transition Institute. She also served as an officer in the French Navy in New Caledonia. Philippine is a recipient of a Fulbright grant from the Fondation Monahan.
