Zhiyuan (Chris) Zong

Zhiyuan (Chris) Zong is a Postdoctoral Scholar in Energy Science & Engineering at Stanford University, working with Prof. Adam Brandt. His research focuses on sustainable energy systems, carbon-negative technologies, and life cycle assessment, with an emphasis on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through process optimization. His recent work includes sustainable biochar production for CO₂ sequestration and techno-economic analysis of clean fuel pathways. He received his PhD in Chemical & Environmental Engineering from the University of Oxford (2025).
